Wie hängen sie zusammen
In Papua New Guinea, located north of New Zealand, indigenous inhabitants continue to adorn themselves with the feathers of birds of paradise to this day. In the 19th century, settlers of the colony of German New Guinea also hunted these birds for their magnificent ornamental feathers. At the height of the global feather trade between 1870 and 1920, thousands of these birds lost their lives for hats, fans, or brooches.
