Experiments with projections, which re-emerged in the 1960s, brought film back to the visual spectacles of the era before its inception. They linked the medium to a spatial experience rich in sensory impressions. Like Fantasmagoria, Movie-Drome used multiple projections simultaneously, allowing viewers to be surrounded by images and actively respond to them. However, it had much nobler goals than simply scaring the audience.
